The immediate past governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Thursday, commissioned Amana Sanatorium, a private drug rehabilitation clinic in Kano.
Located in Jido at the outskirts of Kano Municipal on Kano-Wudil Highway, the multi-centre is equipped with a depression management section, as well as a reformatory centre.
During his tenure as governor of the most populous state in the country, Kwankwaso who clocked 65 on Thursday occupied his time and energy to ensure the rehabilitation of drug addicts in the society.
Amana Sanatorium offers rehabilitation for outpatients, and Inpatients, with various levels of addiction, based on the period of therapy.
Also, the centre is equipped, with outdoor sports facilities to help grow the mental health of inmates, as well as offering them the opportunity to learn skilled jobs in modern workshop.
In his remarks on the occasion, Kwankwaso, noted that for a pretty long time, his desire is to create something beneficial to humanity, pointing out that the climax is the magnificent centre at Jido.
According to him, people with drug-related challengess would be treated at the centre, so as to reintegrate them into the society of decent and sane people.
