Anne-Marie has shown which mast her Little Mix colours are nailed to when she unfollowed Jesy Nelson on Instagram on Thursday.
The 30-year-old singer has now teamed up with the girl group for her new single, Kiss My (Uh Oh).
Taking to Instagram on Thursday evening, she explained to fans what the story of the song is about, saying that it is about walking away from someone that has treated you badly.
The Essex-born singer had written earlier on her Instagram Story that the collaboration has been a long time in the making and that it was during lockdown that she managed to hook up with Little Mix virtually, so that they could add their vocals to her song.
In explaining the meaning of the song, she went into some detail about why it was dealing with toxic relationships.
The singer said: “This song is a girl power anthem. It’s all about walking away from someone who weren’t treating you well, not giving you what you deserve, not giving you the time and just treating you as a booty call…
“Which sometimes can be fun but if you want more and they are not moving to the next stage for you, you got to walk away. Goodbye.”
Her words come after the fall out from Jesy Nelson ‘blackfishing’ accusations has seen the former Little Mix star lose tens of thousands of people unfollow her on Instagram.
As well Anne-Marie, a host of other celebrities including the Little Mix stars, MNEK and Paloma Faith have dropped Jesy from their feed as she faces claims regarding the video for her debut solo single, Boyz, which features Nicki Minaj.
American rapper Nicki featured on an Instagram Live session with Jesy and fans were left with a sour taste in their mouths after Jesy failed to defend her ex-bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock after Nicki went on the attack.
Nicki called Leigh-Anne “jealous” and a “clown” but Jesy just smirked and laughed and didn’t look to step in.
Nicki blasted Leigh-Anne after a story broke alleging that Leigh-Anne urged an influencer to do a video slating Jesy for blackfishing – a term that refers to someone who is pretending to be black or mixed-race.
