Rebel Wilson looks completely different compared to even just one year ago, having shed five stone in a bid to get more healthy.
She previously admitted to PEOPLE that before her weight loss journey, she was “probably eating 3,000 calories most days”.
She has since lost 70lbs and says she is “so proud of what she’s become and achieved”.
The Bridesmaids star has always been careful to explain health was the only reason she underwent this transformation, and says she decided to deal with the mental cause of her overeating, without obsessing over a specific goal or number.
Rebel, 41, revealed some film roles actually required her to be bigger, which “messed with her head” – in fact, one of her characters was even called ‘Fat Amy’.
The actress attended a health-orientated retreat in Austria and says it helped her to focus on her goal and to keep at her target weight.
“I think because I approached it from all areas … the biggest thing that I haven’t ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as classical emotional eating … so I really worked on that side,” she said.

She says she has always been confident at any size – but could not believe how differently the world seemed to treat her once she lost weight.
In a interview with The Morning Crew With Hughesy, Ed and Erin, Rebel she was asked whether her physical transformation had changed her as a person.
“I like to think I looked good at all sizes and stuff and I’ve always been quite confident. So it wasn’t like I wasn’t confident and then now I’m, like, super confident,” she replied.
“I think what’s been really interesting to me is how other people treat you,” she continued.
“Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you, and now that I’m in a good shape, like, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you.
“I was like, ‘Is this what other people experienced all the time?'”
The actress admitted she was baffled by the public interest in her weight loss, while so much is going on in the world – with the interview taking place at the start of the pandemic.
“People are always fascinated by weight loss transformations,” she said.
For Rebel, who themes different years, 2020 was her “year of health”.
“For the last few years I’ve been theme-ing my years. So I had the Year of Fun, last year I had the Year of Love, and this year it’s gonna be the Year of Health because I turned 40 this year in March,” she explained on The Drew Barrymore Show.
“I never really focused on my health, which was probably obvious. I was going all around the world jet-setting everywhere and eating a ton of sugar. That was kind of my vice. I have a very sweet tooth, I love desserts.
“I think what I really suffered from was emotional eating and dealing with the stress of becoming famous internationally. There is a lot of stress that comes with it and I guess my way of dealing with it was just eating donuts,” she added.
“So I was working on the mental side of things -why was I not doing that? Why was I not valuing myself and having better self-worth?
“And then on the nutritional side, my diet was mainly all carbs. It was delicious, but for my body type, I needed to eat a lot more protein.
“What I was doing was to improve my overall health and to improve my whole lifestyle to make me a happier, healthier person,” she continued.
Rebel added: “I love my curves and stuff, I don’t think I’ll ever go too skinny, but I feel so much healthier.”
She also explained on an Instagram live that she had a goal weight to work towards, but it was never about that alone.
“I’m so glad that I did it. The goal was never to be skinny, it was never to fit into a certain dress size. I put a goal weight because I needed some tangible thing,” she said.
“But I am really glad that I did it because I think it was time. I’ve been overweight for about 20 years.”
Spreading a message of self-love and confidence, Rebel posted a selfie on Instagram earlier this year with the caption: “Rather than step on the scale, look at yourself in the mirror and be like ‘dammmm girrrrrl …you’re smart and talented and accomplished and perfect just the way you are.”
And on Tuesday, Rebel showcased her newly trim figure further in a red swimsuit, urging fans to “go for it” if they want to better themselves.
She posed on a leafless tree, surrounded by beautifully clear blue water on a private island.
She captioned the first image: “It’s never too late to improve yourself – to improve your health, your heart, your happiness, your harmony.
“For everyone out there just trying to be a lil bit better this week: go for it! Every bit counts. Every effort is worth it.”
She ended her inspirational post by telling her 10.1 million followers: “You’re worth it,” and included the hashtag #RebelIsland.
