Chrissy Teigen has shared an emotional tribute to her late son Jack a year on from her heartbreaking loss.
On Tuesday 28 September, the model took to Instagram to mark the one year anniversary since she and husband John Legend suffered tragedy when they lost their son around half-way through the pregnancy.
The sombre date also happened to fall on National Sons Day 2021 – an occasion Chrissy marked by sharing a series of snaps of her three-year-old son Miles on Instagram.
Later on in the day, the 35-year-old star then paid tribute to her late child Jack in an emotional post where she discussed :the greatest pain” she has endured since her loss.
Sharing a picture of herself and husband John distraught in a hospital 12 months ago, Chrissy spoke directly to Jack in the post shared with her 35.3 million followers.
“And to the son we almost had. a year ago you gave me the greatest pain I could ever imagine to show me I could survive anything, even if I didn’t want to,” the star began her moving caption on Tuesday.
“I didn’t get to take care of you but you came and went to get me to love myself and take care of myself because our bodies are precious and life is a miracle.”
Chrissy candidly concluded: “They told me it would get easier but yeah, that hasn’t started yet. mom and dad love you forever.”
Hundreds of fans, and celebrity pals, rushed to show love and support for the grieving mother under her latest social media update.
Among those sharing support was model Nazanin Mandi, who wrote” “Sending all my love .. always,” along with a red heart emoji.
“Beautifully written,” model Ashley Graham commented, while actress Ashley Greene wrote: “Your vulnerability and strength is admirable.”
On the same day, Chrissy also updated her Instagram Story to tell her followers she was unable to sleep the night before.
“I didn’t sleep at all last night, as john can attest,” she shared on the social media app.
“I was up sick, sobbing, as my phone popped up the memory of being in the hospital exactly 1 year ago, losing our baby. So maybe I’m a little sensitive today but f**k off.”
The star also seemed to address her critics, adding: “Why people follow people they hate [is] beyond me.”
Earlier this year, Chrissy was embroiled in a bullying scandal when old tweets resurfaced where the star had attacked fellow celebrities such as Courtney Stodden.
The controversy began just months after the model lost her third child due to complications.
Chrissy was around 20 weeks pregnant at the time of her loss and went on to name her late son Jack.
In December 2020, the Lip Sync Battle host expressed her sadness about the fact she will never be pregnant again, just months after she lost her son Jack.
“I love being pregnant, so, so much, and I’m sad I never will be again,” she captioned a selfie of herself with a still-visible bump.
“Even though I’m no longer pregnant, every glance in the mirror reminds me of what could have been,” the mum-of-two added to her Instagram post.
