Ferne McCann has given up the booze in a bid to change her lifestyle for the better.
The former The Only Way Is Essex and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! star has binned alcohol as part of an eight-week detox in time for her three-year-old daughter Sunday’s ‘big girl school’ debut.
Ferne, 31, has revealed she didn’t touch a drop at the National Television Awards this week.
And she is now firmly focused on maintaining a healthy diet and staying motivated to complete gruelling training sessions.
“I didn’t drink a drop of alcohol,” revealed Ferne, in an exclusive interview with MailOnline.
“Not even a sip of champagne. I really want to get strong and fit. It’s not necessarily a body transformation but I really want to challenge myself physically to do some open water swimming.
“I recently started boxing and I got back into my running which is so hard but I feel I can’t commit with my absolute 100% effort when I haven’t had enough sleep or fuelled my body with the right nutrition.
“Let’s face it, I’ve really celebrated this summer. I threw a 30th birthday party even though I’m 31. I just thought that now’s the time to get back in the game as Sunday begins school.”
Ferne revealed she over-indulged with a series of fun-filled BBQs over the summer, with pizza and Aperol Spritzes her downfall.
But now the reality TV star is refusing temptation to make sure she gets “fit and strong” during her eight-week cycle that is set to test to her mental and physical strength to the limit.
Loose Women panelist Ferne has partnered with Pom-Bear to help encourage lazy families to become healthier, with obesity a huge problem in the UK.
And she admits that she is desperate to do exercise each day even before she’s left her house in order to feel better.
Mum Ferne is a big advocate of parents keeping their children health and active because she believes it helps them “mentally, physically and emotionally”.
Ferne will soon wrap filming on her First Time Mum’s seventh series on ITVBe – and the popular social media influencer has revealed she has already started questioning whether she wants Sunday to have a career in the celebrity spotlight.
She admitted: “I don’t know if I would want her to do that, which sounds so contradicting because obviously I do reality TV.
“I think the genre has a stigma and people think we’re talentless but actually it’s so entertaining.”
