Former I’m A Celebrity star Hollie Arnold admitted she was happier than ever as she showcased her impressive weight loss transformation.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the Paralympian shared a before and after picture with her 38.1 thousand followers to reveal how “making changes” to her lifestyle has left her feeling “happier and healthier”.
Sharing two pictures side by side, taken a year apart, the 27-year-old can be seen wearing the same black and white gingham dress as she poses during different stages of her weight loss journey.
Titling the snap “One year’s difference”, Hollie wrote: “A lot has changed for me in a year. I was unhappy and not myself. I let lockdown get the better of me, mentally and physically.”
“Now, I’m making changes for “myself” I’m happier and healthier and so close to my goal but looking at this photo really shows how much has changed,” she continued.
“Let’s keep going!”
Fans were clearly impressed by the athlete’s progress, flooding the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star’s inbox with compliments and well wishes.
“Thank you guys so much for your lovely comments and messages about my post I put up earlier,” the reality TV contestant followed up in a second post.
“Sometimes we don’t realise how far we’ve actually come mentally and physically until it stares at us right in the face!!!”
“Thank you to all my amazing followers who still continue to follow me and my journey with life, sport and just general day to day stuff.”
Grimsby-born Hollie found fame as a parasport athlete competing in category F46 javelin and representing Wales in the Commonwealth Games.
At 14, the star became the youngest ever field athlete to compete in the Paralympics/Olympics at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, throwing a personal best while doing so.
In November 2020, the four-time Paralympics champion opted for a change of career when she took part in the twentieth series of I’m a Celeb.
Speaking prior to entering the Welsh castle, Hollie inspired fans, saying: “Yes I have a missing arm and I am in the Paralympics but I want to show people nothing stops me and it shouldn’t stop anyone else either.”
“I hope by going on the programme, it inspires people. I want people to look and see that I am scared but I am giving it a go.”
Her stay in the camp was short-lived as she was the first star to be voted off ITV reality series.
Many viewers were gutted about her early exit, with one tweeting: “I can see why it was Hollie, we just didn’t see enough of her, I feel like I still didn’t really know her.”
Fans will see more of the star again very soon, as Hollie is currently preparing to take part in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games later this year.
