It’s here! We know y’all have been waiting to see what Kanye West had in store for his collection with Gap, and the very first piece from the line went live for pre-order on Tuesday morning. In regular Yeezy fashion, the “round jacket” sold out within hours, and fans will be awaiting its arrival this fall.
The $200 shapeless puffer coat is the first and only piece Yeezy and Gap have produced. It features an oversized design with no sort of zippers or buttons in site. Kanye was recently spotted wearing the jacket with a graphic full face ski mask to match.
The unisex puffer was sold out just hours after it went live on Gap’s website.
It’s been almost a year since Ye’s collaboration with one off his favorite brands was announced and questions about pricing and design have had potential customers talking. As we previously reported, the 10-year partnership includes “modern, elevate basics for men, woman and kids at accessible price points.”
The Yeezy brand recently attempted to changed its logo, which sparked some tension with Walmart. I know what you’re thinking–how do the two even compare?! Well, as we previously reported, the megastore filed a complaint alleging the proposed Yeezy logo looks to similar to Walmart’s logo.
Walmart argues that the design “is likely to cause confusion, mistake and deception” among customers, and the brand is concerned people will associate Yeezy’s products with Walmart.
