Victor Osimhen made an impact off the bench for Napoli in their 2-1 Serie A defeat at Juventus on Wednesday evening, Sports247 reports.
Cristiano Ronaldo put the hosts ahead inside 13 minutes after beautiful work from Federico Chiesa on the right flank.
Napoli made double changes shortly after the restart with Osimhen and Matteo Politano coming on for Deigo Demme and Hervin Lozano.
The Nigerian came close moments later with his effort deflecting for a corner.
Paulo Dybala doubled Juventus’ lead in the 73rd minute with a beautiful strike minutes after coming on.
In the dying minutes of the game, Osimhen drew a foul from Georgio Chielini inside the box which gave Napoli a lifeline back into the game.
Lorenzo Insigne stepped up to convert the spot-kick, sending Gigi Buffon the wrong way but there was no enough time for Napoli to salvage something out of the game.
The defeat leaves the Azzurri fifth in the league table with 56 points after 29 games while Juve surge to third on 59 points.
