by Dare Eniola
January 13, 2021

Smart city football club of Lagos, chairman, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has given players of smart city FC, new year gifts by increasing their salaries to boost their morals in the new season.

Adeboye disclosed the good news to the players after their training session on Monday, to the delight and jubilation of the boys, who all rose up to give the gracious chairman, a resounding round of applause.

The chairman said the players deserve the salary increments for all their efforts, hard work, and loyalty to the club.
“I think the best thing to do for them is to reward them with salary increments to further boost their performance in this new season”

“My boys have shown over the years that, they are loyal and dedicated to the club, the players have over the years played with their hearts and souls to make sure the club win laurels, they played the finals of the 2018 Lagos Fa cup, losing to MFM FC, but they made up for it in 2019, by winning the Lagos Fa cup and also reaching the quarter-finals of the national Aiteo cup which is a laudable feat for such young players,” he said.

“The club will continue to provide a congenial atmosphere for the players to thrive. I trust the boys, I know this year, by the grace of God, we will achieve bigger successes” he added.

It will be recalled that Smart City gave their players cash gifts and bags of rice for the festive celebrations, and just a week into a resumption of the year, the players are getting salary increments.

Smart city are the current fa cup champions of Lagos, but the Coronavirus pandemic derailed them from defending their title in 2020, we hope by the grace of God, they will have the chance to defend their title and showcase their heavenly gifted talents to the world in 2021.
