Unidentified gunmen have killed 14 villagers and injured six others in an attack in central Nigeria’s Kogi state.
Eyewitnesses say the attackers appeared in Agbudu village on Wednesday evening and fired sporadically.
Local police say 13 of the dead were from the same family, which now has only one surviving member.
A team of security agents have been deployed to the village where investigations are under way but no arrests have yet been made, Kogi state police spokesman Willy Aya told the BBC.
Police say they believe inter-communal tensions are to blame for the attack.
