Mrs Otasowie Oshodin, on Wednesday handed over the reins of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), as the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the University.
This was announced in a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the university, Benedicta Ehanire, made available to Global Times on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Mr Clarkson Ehigiator, Senior Deputy Registrar, School of Post-Graduate Studies, is to act as Registrar of the university.
“Ehigiator replaced Oshodin, in acting capacity, pending the appointment of a substantive Registrar by the institution’s Governing Council,” the statement said.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Lilian Salami, described Oshodin, who served the university for five years, as a seasoned administrator.
Salami said Oshodin would be remembered for her equanimity and candour, and wished her well in her future endeavours.
Global Times reports that Mrs Oshodin is wife of a former vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Godwin Osayuki Oshodin.
