The Lagos State Government has announced that it will prosecute all the guests at the party organised by Nollywood actress, Funke
Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz, for violating the lockdown put in place to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
This was disclosed by the Attorney-General, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) which was published on Monday.
The Attorney-General explained that efforts are being made to identify and apprehend all those who were at the party.
“Once they are apprehended, they will face charges,” he said.
Commenting on the sentence handed out to the 42-year-old actress and her husband, he said, “This sentence should serve as a deterrent to everybody, nobody is bigger than the law.”
Funke and JJC Skillz were on Monday charged to court for violating the Infection Disease Regulation of the Lagos State Government.
The couple pleaded guilty and were ordered to pay a fine of N100, 000 each.
In addition, they are to observe community service for 14 days and be kept in isolation in a place to be decided by the Lagos State Ministry of Health.
Chief Magistrate Yewande Aje-Afunwa, who delivered the judgement, also ordered them to provide the names and phone numbers of all their guests.
“Each defendant shall provide the names, addresses and GSM numbers of every person who attended the party within 24 hours,” she said.
Following this, singer, Naira Marley, who was one of the guests at the party, turned himself in and is now in police custody.
