The dethroned Emir of Kano Lamido Sanusi, has been arrested by security operatives.
This followed the removal of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, from office by the state government.
Mr Sanusi who was removed from office today is currently being conveyed to Nassarawa State where he is expected to spend the rest of his life.
The decision to banish the former Central Bank Governor is said to be in line with the tradition of the Kano Emirate Council.
His replacement is expected to be announced any moment from now by the state governor, Umar Ganduje.
The dethronement of the Emir followed the State Council executive meeting presided over by the Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Emir Muhammad Sanusi II was the 14th Emir of Kano before he was dethroned by the Kano State Government.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, a former Nigerian Central Bank Governor ascended the throne in 2014 after the death of his granduncle Ado Bayero.
